Each behavior of your kitten has its distinctive meanings, so you should never take any of it for granted. You should have a mental list of all the behaviors from your kitten. Carefully watch them and reward them whenever you find her doing something right. Food rewards, such as a few kibbles of Science Diet? cat food should be awarded for using the litter box or scratching post; while toys usually are provided when you handle her.
If you want to your kitten to feel relaxed and social among the surrounding environment, you need to provide lots of positive social experiences when your kitten is young, especially during the first few months. Invite people of various ages and appearances to frequently visit your home. Meantime toys, play and treats can be used to teach your kitten to distinguish different visitors.
At last, never punish your kitten. Don’t tease or play games that would lead to play-biting. Place things out of reach that a curious kitten may get to damage.
