It was reported that a cat in Jersey had been shot with 15 air gun pellets, but fortunately she could make a full recovery according to the vet provides the treatment.
Before it was found and sent to the vet, it had been missing for three days. It had been found with a broken leg, and the vet spotted the pellet when the wound was x-rayed.
Even though the vet said the cat is recovering well, a further check indicated that there are other pellets existed in the cat’s body.
In another incident, a man in Leicester has been arrested for shooting a cat with an airgun. The poor victim (a cat) unfortunately lost an eye though the best efforts have been done by the vets.
The 25-year-old man was taken into custody eventually and interviewed by police.
It was calculated that more than 1,000 animal injuries are caused by airguns each year in the UK.
